How is the course structured?

Every day we will start at 9:00 with a coffee or tea, and get straight down to it. Now imagine 6 blocks. One block is 45 minutes. Every day, we’ll arrange those blocks a little differently.

Your teachers love the ‘learning through play’ approach. For you, this means you will play a lot, searching for answers to questions, tackling quizzes and as a result, getting to know Czech culture even better.

A themed game with the mysterious acronym VTHwill run throughout the course. Don’t know what VTH stands for? Brilliant – your game has just begun!

About us

Yes, we have the know-how and years of experience in language teaching – you can count on us. Thousands of students have passed through our hands. Can’t quite picture it? Neither could we, but it’s true!

About us – your teachers

The Czech language brings people together and it also happened to bring us together – a group of friends, all Czech language teachers. From this connection came the idea for a short, intensive Czech language course for foreigners. It sounds like a cliché, because there are plenty of such courses everywhere. But ours is not just any ordinary course. Our aim is to create a community of Czech language learners who support and inspire one another to learn better. Why, you ask? Well, simply because we all love teaching.

Máme ve skupině jednu Polku, která učí češtinu pomocí literatury.
Dvě z nás mají jako svou velkou vášeň výslovnost.
Three of us often help students prepare for certified language exams and the exam to obtain permanent residence.
Čtyři z nás mají za partnera cizince, je za tím spousta romantických a dobrodružných příběhů. Možná se v kurzu dozvíte pár pikantních podrobností z partnerského soužití s cizincem 🙂
For all five of us, the student is the star of the show.💙

What else do we have in common? We’re proactive, we love trying new things and we go about it the smart way. We’re always learning and we have years of teaching experience. We use unique, creative methods. We love languages. Every day, we speak not only Czech, but also English, Croatian, Lithuanian, Polish, Russian, Serbian and Spanish. And we also know what it’s like to live in a foreign-language environment, to move abroad or to have a foreigner in the family. You can see all of this reflected in our lessons!

We want our students to feel at home in the Czech Republic – safe, comfortable and at ease. That’s why in our lessons we offer support and a welcoming atmosphere, so that students gain confidence when conversing with native speakers and aren’t afraid to speak in real-life situations. All this is done effectively and using practical examples.

We’re all different, but together we complement each other like pieces of a jigsaw. Together, we make up Czech in 6. And just as the Czech language has brought us together, it can bring you, our students, together too – and we want to be part of that!

hradec kralove

Why Hradec Králové?

We’ve decided to hold the first edition in Hradec Králové, a beautiful city in eastern Bohemia. Why there, of all places? Quite simply, because it’s easy to get there from all parts of the Czech Republic and from abroad. It’s nicknamed ‘the salon of the republic’.

In Hradec Králové, you’ll find plenty of lovely cafés and places to explore. It has got it all - incredibly beatiful architecture, opportunities to explore Czech history and art. At the same time, it is not as well known amongst foreigners.

Our concept is also a sort of language salon, where we’ll enjoy each other’s company. We want to build a community where students are encouraged to communicate with one another. Come and help us build this community!

Wings, coffee, communication, culture, beauty, crown.

Six words beginning with K. Coincidence? Not at all.

For all of them are also connected by Hradec Králové – a city where not only an autumn school of Czech awaits you, but also plenty of experiences, fun and new friendships.

Let's start with the wings.

Perhaps you know the famous wings by the artist Míla Fürstová from the iconic Coldplay album cover. Not only will we look at that painting in the local gallery*, but we will also put them on. Well, not in reality. Just make-believe. We will look at the Czech language, the Czech Republic and ourselves with greater detachment. And we will set off on a journey that can take you further than you can currently imagine.

For that we will need plenty of energy. That is why coffee enters the scene. In the cosy cafes of Hradec we can relax and enjoy the atmosphere of the city. Sometimes a person simply learns the most during an ordinary conversation over a cup of good coffee. And if the coffee does not boost our energy enough, we will pop over for a tour of the Hučák hydroelectric power station, where we can see a tsunami and a tornado. At the same time.

Our course starts on Friday 25th September 2026, and on that very day, Researchers' Night is taking place at Czech universities. This year's theme is communication. What a coincidence! Because our programme cannot do without everyday communication either. Czech is not just found in the pages of textbooks. It is mainly in people's mouths. That is why we will be using it in shops, in cafes, at the municipal office, in the city streets, and we will even pop over to that university. We will try out real-life situations, we will speak, ask questions, and react when meeting neighbours, passers-by or a mother-in-law after Saturday lunch.

We also get to know the local culture – by listening, looking and perhaps even tasting. How can you taste culture? Surely the verb to taste is used for food and drink. Exactly. As part of the St Wenceslas celebrations, we’ll toast to our health with a glass of wine. During the break between lessons, we’ll have a traditional Czech kolache. But don't worry, real culture with a stage, an auditorium and an open-faced ham sandwich awaits us too.

And all this to the sound of Augustine, the third largest bell in the Czech Republic, or the new carillon. And that is already connected with discovering the beauty of the city. The Art Nouveau museum building, Gočár's schools, First Republic villas, two working paternoster lifts, parks and nearby forests, the rivers Elbe and Orlice - these are just some of the places that the people of Hradec love and that make Hradec what it is.

But we won't skip the old town either, with the majestic Cathedral of the Holy Spirit and the White Tower. By the way, that's the first thing one sees from afar when arriving in Hradec Králové.

And finally, the crown. A symbol of the royal city and of Czech queens. A reminder that Hradec Králové is an exceptional place. And also a symbol of what you might take home with you – the feeling that you have mastered something new, made new friends and gained greater confidence in speaking Czech. You too can join the ranks of the kings and queens of Hradec. Feel at home in Czechia. Perhaps thanks precisely to your experience in Hradec.

* Note: Unfortunately we won't get to see it. It won't be on display during the course anymore. But we had a great text, now we're in the process of coming up with a different, better Q.
